Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight for its size
From maker's figures 8/10How much it adds to your pack for the amount it holds. 8: Clearly better than most.
Toaks gives 200 g for the set; Ultralight Outdoor Gear itemises 130 g for the 800 ml pot with lid and 69 g for the 400 ml pan, 199 g in all. Toaks sells it as the Compact Cookset 2pcs (pot and pan); the shop's address ends 3pcs but its page lists the same pot and pan, the same sizes and the same weights, so it is the same set and the third piece is the lid (one lid, counted with the pot). Capacity is the pot plus the pan: 800 ml + 400 ml = 1.2 L. Toaks' spec line calls the 400 ml piece a bowl, but its text and the shop call it a pan, it has a folding handle and the shop says it fries, so it counts as a pan under the method. 200 g for 1.2 L = 167 g per litre, in the 150-219 g/L band (199 g, 166 g per litre, is too). If only the pot counted, it would be 250 g per litre (band 3).

In short
Good for
- Two people sharing one stove, or one cook who wants a separate pot and pan
- Boiling water in the 800 ml pot and using the 400 ml pan as a bowl or a small frying pan
- Weight-first packing on a small canister stove
Strengths
- 200 g for 1.2 L of pot and pan (167 g per litre) per Toaks
- Pot and pan nest together, and the pot's lid has a folding grip
- Uncoated titanium: no coating to wear off
- Pan serves as a bowl or a small frying pan (enough for an egg or two rashers, says the UK shop)
Weaknesses
- Uncoated titanium with no non-stick surface, so food can catch on a hot spot unless the flame is kept low
- The pan is shallow, 40 mm deep, and holds 400 ml
- Toaks (200 g) and the UK shop (199 g) differ slightly
