Weight
From maker's figures 3/10How much it adds to your pack. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.
Sprayway lists 640 g (men's M in its 2019 launch text, size not stated on today's page), in the 470-649 g band 2, 10 g under the 650 g band 1. Outdoor Clothing's page also says 640 g. Live for the Outdoors weighed 652 g in a size L, which would be band 1.

In short
Good for
- Big hill days, winter hills and wet scrambling where you want a classic 3-layer GORE-TEX shell
- Walkers who want pit zips and a big hood with a wired peak
- Anyone who wants a high-visibility panelled colour scheme
Strengths
- 3-layer GORE-TEX at 640 g (Sprayway), lighter than the 2-layer Reaction
- Hood praised by four reviewers: volume, easy adjustment, wired peak and roll-away tab
- 2-way front zip with double storm guard, 2-way pit zips, map shelf in the hand pockets
- Panelled colours for visibility; Sprayway's 2019 to 2021 text calls the fabric PFCec-free (made without the PFCs of most concern for the environment)
Weaknesses
- Sprayway doesn't say how the seams are finished, so rain protection is an estimate, not a reviewed score
- Heavier than modern lightweight shells; Live for the Outdoors weighed 652 g in size L
- Hand pockets sit high and clip against a rucksack hip belt (The Great Outdoors, women's version)
- Durability is an estimate, not a reviewed score: no wear reports found
