Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Brightness
From maker's figures 1/10How much light it gives at full power, for finding your way in the dark. 1: A real weak point.
Decathlon gives one mode, 50 lumens, with no test standard stated (the brand's own figure): under 150 lumens, the lowest band.
Runtime
From maker's figures 9/10How long one charge or set of batteries lasts at a level you can walk and cook by. 9: Among the best you can buy for this.
The torch has no mode of 80 lumens or more, so the time at full power counts: Decathlon gives up to 20 hours on 2 AAA batteries, in the 10 h+ band. The light dims gradually as the batteries drain, so the full 50 lumens does not last that long.
Weight
From maker's figures 8/10How much it adds to your pack and your head. 8: Clearly better than most.
Decathlon's feature list gives 60 g and its specification table 65 g, both with the 2 AAA batteries: the 50–89 g band either way. We list the higher figure.

1 review on ease of use, e.g. "it's very simple in operation just on or off".
In short
Good for
- A cheap spare lamp for the first-aid kit, a car or a rucksack lid pocket
- Light tasks at camp such as finding things in the tent or a trip to the toilet
- Children and helmets: the band fits both
Strengths
- 60–65 g with 2 AAA batteries, which you can change with ordinary cells
- One on/off button that works with gloves and doesn't switch on in a bag (Decathlon)
- 20 hours of use on a set of batteries
- Removable, washable headband that fits children to adults and mountain helmets
Weaknesses
- Only 50 lumens in one mode, with a 20 m range: not enough for walking on rough ground at night
- No red light, no dimmer and no lock
- The light fades gradually as the AAA batteries drain
- IPX4: splash-proof only
- The lumen figure is Decathlon's own, and we found no independent review of this torch
