In short
Good for
- A cheap spare or backup head torch for camp and short night walks
- Reading, cooking and moving round a wild camp
- Anyone who wants the simplest possible lamp: one button, three levels
Strengths
- 100 lumens for 10 hours and 7 lumens for 100 hours on the AAA it comes with
- Hybrid: takes the CORE rechargeable battery later (sold separately)
- A single button and nothing to learn
- 92 g and a washable band that fits over a hat or helmet
Weaknesses
- No lock on the button, so it can switch on in a pack
- IPX4 only (splash-proof)
- Flood beam only with a 65 m reach: weak for night navigation on open ground
- CleverHiker found the frame digs into the forehead after a couple of hours without a hat
- No battery indicator (The Great Outdoors, BASE)
