Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Brightness
From maker's figures 7/10How much light it gives at full power, for finding your way in the dark. 7: Better than most.
Petzl states 600 lumens to ANSI/PLATO FL1 for 2 hours with the CORE battery it comes with: the 500–799 band. On three AAA (not included) it is 370 lumens.
Runtime
From maker's figures 7/10How long one charge or set of batteries lasts at a level you can walk and cook by. 7: Better than most.
The 100-lumen standard mode runs 7 hours on the CORE battery (FL1), plus 2 hours of reserve: the 6–9.9 h band. The same 7 hours applies on AAA.
Weight
From maker's figures 6/10How much it adds to your pack and your head. 6: A bit better than average.

In short
Good for
- Trail running and fast night walking where a rear battery keeps the weight balanced
- Runners who want a rear red strobe for being seen on lanes
- Anyone who wants a USB-C rechargeable lamp with AAA as a back-up
Strengths
- 600 lumens (FL1) for 2 hours, and 100 lumens for 7 hours, at 90 g
- Rear battery pack balances the weight; ultra-thin breathable headband with reflective cord
- CORE battery (1250 mAh, USB-C) included, and the lamp also takes three AAA
- Rear red strobe, battery indicator and lock mode
- 5-year warranty on the lamp (2 years or 300 charge cycles on the CORE battery)
Weaknesses
- IPX4 only: splash-proof, not for heavy rain or immersion
- No independent review yet, so comfort and beam are estimates, not reviewed scores
- On AAA the top mode drops to 370 lumens, and AAA are not included
- The red light is a rear strobe only: Petzl lists no steady red light, so none for map reading or camp
- No charging cable supplied
