Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight for its size
From maker's figures 8/10How much it adds to your pack for the water it holds. 8: Clearly better than most.
OMM lists 80 g for 0.75 L on its UK, Danish and Swedish pages: 107 g per litre, in the 100-179 g/L band. Ultralight Outdoor Gear lists 74 g (99 g per litre, which would be the top band), so we band OMM's figure.
Packed size (empty)
Estimate from maker's specs: bottle type 5/10How much room it takes up when it is empty, for the water it holds. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.
Estimate from maker's specs
In short
Good for
- A cheap, light 750 mL bottle for fell running and mountain marathons
- A second bottle for the day pack, with a bite valve that needs no cap to open
Strengths
- 80 g for 750 mL: 107 g per litre
- Large-aperture bite valve for a high flow rate, with no valve to open or close (OMM)
- Lid and bite valve swap across OMM's hydration range
- Collar to reduce sloshing (OMM)
- BPA, PVC and phthalate free (OMM)
Weaknesses
- OMM gives no size and does not say what the bottle is made of (nor do Sportsshoes or Ultralight Outdoor Gear)
- No rolled-up or cylinder size, so we cannot score packed size
- Ultralight Outdoor Gear lists 74 g where OMM lists 80 g
- No independent test found, so ease of use and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
