Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 9/10How much it adds to your pack. This is the whole tent: two people sharing can split it. 9: Among the best you can buy for this.
Nemo's minimum weight of 779 g is under the 1.0 kg band (935 g packed).
Rain protection
From maker's figures 1/10How well it keeps out heavy, long rain. 1: A real weak point.
Fly 1,200 mm is the 1,200–1,499 band, band 2 (3 out of 10), then one band lower because the floor is also only 1,200 mm, under 2,000 mm. This is the fabric's rating only.
Wind
Estimate from maker's specs: maker's season rating (fewer than 3 reviews about wind) 5/10How steady it stays in strong wind on open ground. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.
No published review says how it copes with wind, so this is an estimate from the maker's season rating.
Space
From maker's figures 6/10Room to lie, sit up and keep kit inside. 6: A bit better than average.
Nemo's 2.5 m² floor ÷ 2 people = 1.25 m² each, in the 1.15–1.34 band (floor 216 cm long, 128 to 107 cm wide, peak height 94 cm).
Packed size
From maker's figures 10/10How much room it takes in your rucksack. 10: The best you can buy for this.
Packs to 48 x 10 x 5 cm = 2,400 cm³, so 2.4 L, under the 4 L band.

In short
Good for
- Two light-and-fast walkers who put weight first and accept a tight fit
- Fair-weather backpacking and thru-hiking where every gram counts
- A solo walker who wants lots of room and two doors at under 800 g
Strengths
- 779 g minimum weight for a two-person double-skin tent with two doors and two vestibules
- Packs to 48 x 10 x 5 cm (2.4 L), smaller than most one-person tents
- Semi-freestanding with DAC Featherlite poles and a Flybar clip for headroom
- PFAS-free OSMO fabric that Nemo says does not sag when wet
- A tall tester (nearly 2 m) fitted in it on his own, though the pole set is long
Weaknesses
- Low waterproof figures: fly 1,200 mm and floor 1,200 mm
- 1.25 m² each is tight for two, and the foot end is narrow (107 cm)
- Outdoor Empire's testers found a lot of condensation (no roof vent), and a 1.85 m tester's head touched the roof all night
- Wind, pitching and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores: only one hands-on review of this exact tent was found
