In short
Good for
- Cool-weather camp layer and mid-layer under a shell (Mountain Equipment: alpine climbing, ski-touring, hiking or climbing in cooler conditions)
- Light, packable synthetic warmth for spring and autumn backpacking
- Ski-touring and mountaineering as a mid-layer (Mountain Equipment's own description)
Strengths
- 430 g, in the 350-449 g band
- 130 g (size L) of POLARLOFT Featherless synthetic fill, which Mountain Equipment says gives the feel and warmth of down with the resilience of synthetic
- Stretch fleece panels in critical areas reduce bulk and add mobility
- Elastane-bound hood, cuffs and hem; two zipped hand pockets
- Packs into its own hand pocket with twin karabiner loops
Weaknesses
- Only two zipped hand pockets, no chest pocket, and the hood is not adjustable (The Great Outdoors)
- Fleece side and underarm panels are not windproof (The Great Outdoors)
- Warmth, damp performance, durability and packed size are estimates, not reviewed scores: one independent review and no published packed size
