Our ratings (out of 10)

1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score

Waterproof build

From maker's figures 6/10

How well its build keeps water out, from the published seams, closure and submersion claim. 6: A bit better than average.

PU/TPU-coated 420D fabric with taped seams and a roll-top closure (rolled 3 times). There is no submersion claim: the 15,000 mm hydrostatic head is a fact, not a score. The 3 band.

Weight for its size

From maker's figures 5/10

How much it adds to your pack for the space it protects. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.

200 g for 25 L is 8.0 g/L, in the 6.0–8.4 g/L band (Lifeventure's figure; GO Outdoors gives the same 200 g).

In short

Good for

  • A tough dry bag for the base of a rucksack, a canoe or kayak trip, or kit that gets knocked about
  • Sleeping bag or spare clothes in wet UK conditions
  • Not for anything that must survive full submersion: there is no submersion claim

Strengths

  • 420D ripstop fabric, much tougher than the 30D Ultralight range
  • 15,000 mm hydrostatic head, PU coating and fully taped seams
  • Roll-top closure with a lightweight buckle

Weaknesses

  • 200 g for 25 L (8.0 g/L), more than 3 times the weight of Lifeventure's Ultralight 25 L (60 g)
  • No submersion claim
  • No independent reviews found, so durability and ease are estimates, not reviewed scores
