Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Brightness
From maker's figures 7/10How much light it gives at full power, for finding your way in the dark. 7: Better than most.
Ledlenser gives 600 lumens in Power mode (10 hours), and its UK FAQ says it measures its lights to ANSI/FL1 (the product page doesn't repeat it): the 500–799 band.
Runtime
From maker's figures 10/10How long one charge or set of batteries lasts at a level you can walk and cook by. 10: The best you can buy for this.
The 250-lumen Mid Power mode runs 15 hours on the 3,000 mAh 18650 battery (Ledlenser's figure), in the 10 h and over band. The 600-lumen mode lasts 10 hours; the 10-lumen low mode runs 120 hours but is under 80 lumens, so it doesn't count.
Weight
From maker's figures 2/10How much it adds to your pack and your head. 2: A weak point.
Ledlenser lists 158 g including the battery, in the 150 g and over band.
In short
Good for
- Wet-weather camping and hiking where a bright, focusable lamp matters more than weight
- Multi-day trips: a spare 18650 cell can be swapped in the field
- Night use with colour filters (red, green, blue and yellow are in the box)
Strengths
- 600 lumens for 10 hours and 250 lumens for 15 hours (Ledlenser's figures)
- Focus ring from flood to a 150 m spot, one-handed
- Replaceable 3,000 mAh 18650 battery; 120 hours at the 10-lumen low setting
- Colour filter set, pouch and a redesigned washable headband in the box
- Rear red safety light; 7-year warranty with online registration
Weaknesses
- 158 g, in the heaviest weight band
- IP54: splash-proof, not for immersion
- A special edition of an older design: charging by Micro-USB takes 360 minutes
- No independent review of this edition yet, so comfort and beam are estimates, not reviewed scores
- We found it at Ledlenser UK only
