Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Brightness
From maker's figures 7/10How much light it gives at full power, for finding your way in the dark. 7: Better than most.
Ledlenser gives 600 lumens in the standard mode (3 hours), and its UK FAQ says it measures its lights to ANSI/FL1 (the product page doesn't repeat it): the 500–799 band. The 1,200-lumen boost is described as a short burst and is not counted.
Runtime
From maker's figures 8/10How long one charge or set of batteries lasts at a level you can walk and cook by. 8: Clearly better than most.
The 250-lumen mid mode runs 8 hours on the 2400 mAh battery (Ledlenser's figure), in the 6–9.9 h band. The 600-lumen mode lasts 3 hours; the 20-lumen low mode runs 60 hours but is under 80 lumens, so it doesn't count.
Weight
From maker's figures 3/10How much it adds to your pack and your head. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.
Ledlenser lists 134 g with batteries, in the 110–149 g band.
