Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Brightness
From maker's figures 7/10How much light it gives at full power, for finding your way in the dark. 7: Better than most.
Ledlenser gives 600 lumens in the Standard Power mode (10 hours), and its UK FAQ says it measures its lights to ANSI/FL1 (the product page doesn't repeat it): the 500–799 band.
Runtime
From maker's figures 10/10How long one charge or set of batteries lasts at a level you can walk and cook by. 10: The best you can buy for this.
The 250-lumen Mid Power mode runs 15 hours on the 3400 mAh 18650 battery (Ledlenser's figure), in the 10 h and over band. The 600-lumen mode lasts 10 hours; the 10-lumen low mode runs 120 hours but is under 80 lumens, so it doesn't count.
Weight
From maker's figures 2/10How much it adds to your pack and your head. 2: A weak point.
Ledlenser lists 158 g including the battery, in the 150 g and over band.
In short
Good for
- Camping and hiking where a 600-lumen lamp with a focus ring matters more than weight
- Long nights in camp: 250 lumens for 15 hours, 10 lumens for 120 hours
- Carrying a spare: the 18650 cell is replaceable
Strengths
- 600 lumens for 10 hours and 250 lumens for 15 hours (Ledlenser's figures)
- Focus ring: one hand moves the beam from spot to flood, 150 m at full power
- Replaceable 18650 battery, with a charge level indicator and a transport lock
- Rear red light and a 7-year warranty with online registration
Weaknesses
- 158 g, in the heaviest weight band
- IP54 only: splash-proof, not for immersion, unlike the IP67 and IP68 Ledlensers
- Older design: Micro-USB charging and a 360-minute charge time
- Comfort and beam are estimates, not reviewed scores: only one independent review we could read
