In short
Good for
- Ultralight and fastpacking trips where every gram and litre of pack space counts
- Summer and sheltered three-season wild camps, boiling water for one
- Walkers who want the Jetboil FluxRing pot in a much smaller, lighter package
Strengths
- 201 g by Jetboil's own figure; Outdoor Gear Lab weighed 207 g
- Stove, stabiliser and a 100 g canister pack inside the 0.8 litre pot (10.8 x 10.8 x 12.7 cm)
- Jetboil says a 2.5 minute boil; GearJunkie matched it for 0.5 litre, Outdoor Gear Lab measured 2 min 42 s and CleverHiker about 3 min 30 s
- Titanium burner; Outdoor Gear Lab found it fuel-efficient
Weaknesses
- Weak in wind: the burner sits on top of the canister, and The Great Outdoors says a full-height windshield is needed
- No built-in igniter, and the pot is not clipped to the stove, so it can be knocked off
- No fuel-per-litre figure from Jetboil, so fuel economy cannot be scored
- The Great Outdoors could not match the quoted boil time in a Cairngorms winter (about twice as long)
