Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Warmth
From reviews 5/10How warm it keeps you standing still at camp. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.
A breathable active layer rather than a camp jacket: OutdoorGearLab says it is far from the warmest and would not be your only insulated layer; Better Trail rates it for moderate cold (about -7 to 10 °C depending on effort) and was warm on a snowshoe trip; The Great Outdoors found it excellent through winter as a layer and comfortable into spring.
Weight
From maker's figures 8/10How much it adds to your pack. 8: Clearly better than most.
Arc'teryx lists 355 g, in the 350-449 g band, close to the 350 g line. OutdoorGearLab weighed a men's M at about 360 g and Better Trail at about 335 g.
In short
Good for

- Under a shell as a mid layer in cold weather
- All-year spare layer for dry cold days
Strengths

- Light at 355 g and keeps warmth when damp
- Insulated hood, PFAS-free coating and recycled lining
Weaknesses

- Side panels and shell let in wind and soak up wet
- Slim, fitted cut
- No packed size published and no stuff sack
